The waterproof, windproof eVent technology microporous membrane used in the construction of the Slikke II jacket prevents rainwater from entering and allows moisture to escape through its micropores. The membrane is designed with interlaced fibers creating imperceptible pores in order to block the penetration of water and allow the humidity (steam) generated by the body to escape.
The Slikke has sealed and waterproof zippers. There is a gutter at the back of the front zipper to add extra protection and protect from infiltrations. The seams are overlapped and sealed with the most waterproof adhesive in the industry. Sealed wrists provide additional protection against water and humidity.
At the shoulders, where the rain hits the hardest, the Slikke II has a seamless one-piece fabric to increase waterproofing. It also has a silicone gripper with stopper to keep your backpack or weapon strapped in place. Silicone on the shoulders supports the weight of your equipment and limits infiltrations thanks to the compression of the membrane.
Zippered underarm side vents are designed to regulate and control body heat. 3 front pockets disposed at a height allows carrying a backpack that attaches at the waist, while keeping access to the pockets.
The hood has a semi-rigid blade to protect the head from rain. The face opening adjustment is internal to avoid potential infiltrations. The adjustment at the back of the hood frees up sight and allows the hood to follow head movements. Each zipper puller has a silicone gripper to facilitate its opening and closing with or without gloves.
